With 30 years in financial services, Vesna has held leadership roles at Goldman Sachs, RBS/NatWest, Santander, and Deutsche Bank. As the Group Head of Financial Crime at Barclays, Vesna’s work enabled the bank to lift its Deferred Prosecution Agreement. At HSBC, she served on the other side of the table as the advisor to the Monitor for the UK FCA, DOJ, and the FED.

Vesna’s career has seen transitions from reputational risk to financial crime in-house, where she contributed and led many industry “firsts”, and actively contributed to industry guidance such as JMLSG Guidance, Wolfsberg Group, covering all disciplines from AML to sanctions, terrorist financing, and anti-bribery. Now, as a consultant and Chair of International Advisory Board at AML RightSource, Vesna works with industry leaders, regulators, technology partners, and financial services institutions ranging from crypto to payments, to traditional banking, to address complex challenges such as AI-enabled fraud, regulatory divergence, new requirements, and remediations – always advancing practical, risk-based solutions.
